This Container

This container
full of chunks of rust
which may have been
tools once, artifacts of
energy and striving
that have become indistinct
remnants, memorials
to former utility:

today, open.
Emptying.

Sun on its interior now;
warm, still,
empty. Maybe comfort
will come with time

but for now,

empty.
